Sustainability
At Miss Moss, we put people and planet over profit. We carefully research and select the suppliers we work with to ensure they follow ethical and sustainable business practices.
Original Miss Moss Art: Our focus on sustainability means we only create new art when our available pieces are low in stock or have completely sold out. Be sure to join our mailing list to be the first to know about new mossy releases!
Moss: Our mosses originate from Europe and adhere to EU environmental protection laws. In addition, many of the varieties we procure have an ISO 14001 certification for environmental management.
Decorations: We harvest naturally fallen bark, logs, pine cones, and acorns. To protect nature and animal habitats, so we only harvest a bit at a time when out hiking or backcountry camping. We also source our flowers from local flower farmers, thereby supporting growers right here in Ontario, Canada. Finally, we use IKEA frames for their sustainable manufacturing and affordability. We purchase our larger wooden panels locally or work with a carpenter here in Toronto to make custom sizes.
Prints: We print on Photo Rag 100% cotton paper by Hahnemüle, which has been producing paper for over 400 years and holds an ISO 14001 certification for environmental management.
To further reduce our carbon footprint and shipping costs, we work with carefully selected printers in Canada, the US, UK, and Germany.
Print Stock: We do not carry any prints in stock. Every Miss Moss print is made to order and shipped directly from the printer to you. This allows us to reduce our carbon footprint.
