Miss Moss

Welcome to Miss Moss! We’re a female-owned small business based in Toronto, Canada, turning nature into art, one mossy masterpiece at a time. What started as a way to bring greenery into our home, quickly grew when friends and family asked for pieces of their own.

"My art is inspired by the beauty of nature and its imperfections, like the intricate layers of forest floors or wildflowers springing between cracks in concrete."

Every Miss Moss piece is completely unique, featuring a variety of preserved mosses, bark, pine cones, and dried flowers.

ARTIST PROCESS

"I began making moss wall art during a stressful period, as a way to cope and help improve my mental health. The process of creating a new Miss Moss piece makes me smile and I love seeing how happy they make kids and adults alike. It is truly such a wonderful and easy way to bring nature into our spaces without the need for any maintenance."

Our creation process is inspired by nature and its imperfections. We glue pieces of moss to the frame in an free-flowing, unstructured way, just like nature. Mossy fact: to date, the only Miss Moss piece that has had a pre-drawn pattern is our rainbow piece.

Depending on the size of the frame and types or colours of moss we're using, setting up and glueing the base layer can take hours or days. After the background is completely covered, it's time to play and prettify! It's a fun process to see a piece evolve as a layer of flowers, bark, or other materials are slowly added. Once the piece is ready, we do a quality check to ensure every Miss Moss original meets our high standards that will allow it to last for years to come.

PRINTS

We are excited to be introducing high quality art prints this fall! Our mossy works are printed using high-resolution Giclée inkjet printers, on 308 gsm premium, museum quality Photo Rag paper from Hahnemüle, made of 100% cotton.

We hope you love your mossy, one-of-a-kind creation! 🌸
