What is preserved moss and how long does it last?
Preserved moss is moss that undergoes a special cleaning and preservation process through a glycerin bath to retain its soft texture. Food-grade dyes are then added, resulting in a variety of colours. This preservation process keeps the moss colourful and maintenance-free, lasting for 10+ years.
Hanging the artwork in a moderate humidity environment will allow the moss to remain soft. If it starts to harden, that's a great indicator that your space may be a bit dry!
Is the moss you use sustainably harvested?
We care for our planet and its natural habitats. The preserved moss we source is handpicked and sustainably harvested. Our supplier is certified with both ISO 9001 for Quality Management System standards and ISO 14001 for Environmental Management System standards.
Where can I hang my original Miss Moss art?
Original Miss Moss pieces must be hung indoors and away from direct sunlight, as the sun will make the colours fade faster or turn brown. Just as nature is always evolving, your original Miss Moss art will have some natural fading over the years.
How do I care for my original Miss Moss art?
One of the mossy perks of preserved moss is that it does not require any watering! Every six months or so, you can dust the your original artwork with a hairdryer by setting it on the cold, low setting. No other care is needed. Simply hang your piece and enjoy its mossiness!
Note: If you water your Miss Moss art, this will result in the colours bleeding and can not only damage your art piece, but the walls as well.
Oh moss! My pet / kid / guests got a hold of my mosspiece and some decoration was dislodged!
Well this is mossy! If any moss or decorations dislodge from the piece, you can re-attach them by using a glue gun and holding them in place until the glue cools. Please follow the glue gun's instructions for safety measures around hot glue. Alternatively, strong liquid crafting glue can be used. Follow the glue's instructions for drying times.
What does end of life care look like when I'm done hanging my original moss art or fine art prints?
If your original art or fine art print is still intact, we recommend giving it new life by gifting or donating it.
Original art: The preserved moss in your original art needs to be disposed in general waste. Do not place it in the compost bin as the moss has been treated with a glycerin solution during the preservation process. Depending on your local recycling program, the frame may be recycled.
Fine Art Prints: Check with your local recycling program if fine art Giclee prints may be recycled or need to be placed in general waste.

Do you ship globally?
We moss-certainly do! Simply follow the checkout process and fill in the shipping details for rates and estimated shipping times. If your country is not listed, please feel free to contact us and we'll do our mossiest to assist you.

How long will it take for my order to ship?
Miss Moss original art and puzzles ship within one week from our studio in Toronto, Canada. You will receive an update once an order is on its way with the estimated shipping time. Please feel free to contact us if you need the products sent as soon as possible and we'll do our mossiest to help you!
Miss Moss fine art prints are printed on demand and take 5-7 business days to be processed, printed, and shipped by our partners in Canada, the US, the UK, and Germany. Shipping times vary based on destination and you will receive an update once an order is on its way with the estimated arrival time.
Do I have to pay duties or tariffs on my orders?
We know duties and tariffs can be mossy. The good news is, you have options!
Miss Moss original art and puzzles ship from Canada. Whether we moss it or not, there may be duties and/or tariffs charged when the items are processed upon arrival at customs at the destination country. Any duties or tariffs charged will be charged to you. We recommend checking your local customs policies for estimated fees prior to placing an order.
Miss Moss fine art prints ship from more than one location:
- Canada: Orders placed for shipping within Canada will ship from Toronto.
- USA: Orders placed for shipping within the US will ship from the US. This will eliminate tariffs and duties if you are based in the US. Now that's some mossy news we can get behind!
- EU: Orders placed for shipping in Europe will ship from the UK or Germany.
- Rest of the World: All other orders will be processed and shipped from the UK, Germany, or the US, depending on what is nearest to the final destination. We recommend checking your local customs policies for estimated fees prior to placing an order.
What is the return policy?
All products purchased on MissMoss.ca are final sale. We are unable to accept returns, exchanges, or cancellations. This supports our sustainability focus by decreasing: 1- our overall carbon footprint through the elimination of return shipments; and 2- the number of products that end up in landfills annually.
We want you to love your Miss Moss products. If there's a problem with your item, please contact us within 5 days of delivery if the item is defective, damaged or if you receive the wrong item, so that we can evaluate the issue and make it right.
If there's a problem with your item, please follow the steps below:
Original Moss Art, Puzzles, or DIY Kits: Should your item(s) arrive damaged, please email us with photos of the damage and we will be happy to assist you.
Fine art prints: All prints are made to order. If your item arrives damaged or with a manufacturing issue (print is defective, damaged, a misprint or wrong image to what you ordered, or the wrong size to what you ordered), please email with a photo clearly showing the issue or damage and we will happily send you a free reprint. There is no need to return the item.
Ordered the wrong size, image, quantity, or changed your mind? While we can't offer a refund, we're happy to provide a one-time discount on a replacement. Please contact us within 5 days of delivery and we'll do our best to help!
