Sustainability & Impact

Our Commitment to Nature

Nature is the source of everything we create at Miss Moss. As a social enterprise, we believe sustainability should be built into every step, from our sourcing and foraging, to our production, to how we give back.

Foraging & Flowers

Our commitment to sustainability begins with thoughtful foraging. We collect naturally fallen wood, pine cones, acorns, and other materials in small quantities to protect ecosystems and wildlife habitats.

We're also proud to source our flowers from local flower farmers, supporting growers right here in Ontario, Canada.

Our Preserved Mosses

We source preserved moss from suppliers that forage responsibly, sustainably, and in harmony with nature.

The mosses originate from the US through legal harvesting permits, and from Europe, which comply with EU environmental protection laws. Most of the varieties we procure are also ISO 14001 certified, an internationally recognized standard for environmental management.

Original Moss Art Production

New artwork is created in limited quantities and only when current pieces are low in stock or sold out.

This approach helps us prevent overproduction and ensures we take no more from nature than necessary.

Our prints are produced on 100% cotton paper by Hahnemüle, a 400-year old company that holds an ISO 14001 environmental management certification.

Miss Moss puzzles are made from 100% recycled graphic board and are proudly produced in Canada.

We are committed to giving back to the stewards of this land through organizations that support Indigenous-informed nature conservation.
